I always come here to get my ramen fix! Out if all the Asian markets in stockton i think this has a little more variety! So i get my ramen packets they also now finally carry the Korean fire noodles amongst others! I like their fried fish and their huge selection of Japanese snacks! Prices are good and always fast cashier service! I come here when I need some ingredients that I wouldn't be able to find at Safeway or Food4Less, mainly Asian produce and different sauces.
I have bought cucumbers here before and they were sour! Some of the packaged vegetables have mold sprouting, you might want to keep a lookout for that as it could go easily unseen! At closing time it will be bag your own stuff, clerk was mean and rude and she insist that I bag my own stuff. They are not food 4 less, their items are not rock bottom cheap. I wish there's negative stars to use for reviewing poor business practices. This is my regular local spot that I go to. I mainly come here for produce, fried fish, snacks and some frozen lumpia.
To me it clean and organize then other Asian supermarket nearby. They fry fish until 7pm, busy area but still not too bad. Little messy in the isles. But the selection of fish and meats are pretty good!
Watch your car for free floating carts. The one star is for the awful customer service at the checkout line. I get that I have to pay for plastic bags now, but that's not an excuse for you to stop bagging my groceries. I have been living in the bay area for the last two years, so I'm very accustomed to bringing my own bags to the store or be ready to pay for them.
What I'm not accustomed to is bagging my own groceries. Go and learn from the pros who have been implementing this method for some time now.
The name on the outside says SF Supermarket, but on the receipt it says Stockton Supermarker. My husband likes to go there because they have many varieties of fresh fish and live fish.
They will also fry your fish for a small additional fee is you like. I no longer like to go there because I found they cheat!
Most every time you shop there you have to watch them or you will be cheated. I pointed that out to himhe insisted that was the price because that's what his scale said and the ticket printed out that is put on the package.
I protested, not easy to do, because he spoke very little English. He told one of his co-workersco-worker told him to use another scale ,right price showed on that scale. On another ocassionI bought a fresh catfish. When we got to check out counter and they rung it up, catfish did not show on the check out screen, instead the words queso Amarillo showed.
I pointed it out to cashier, she said it was the fault of people in seafood section. I tried reporting them to City of Stockton, could never get connected to correct department.
I would never go there to shop, but my husband says they have the freshest fish. Hopefully you can help do something about these blatant cheating.
I agree with the comment on cheating But there are an amazing number of veggies I can't find anywhere else and some meats and fish that are hard to find. All I can say is that I will continue to shop here but I will watch my receipt!!!
It's like a hoopty Ranch 99 check out the store sign-- similar font and green laurel leavesbut better.
I love how brightly lit it is, and it feels clean not dingy or stinky inside. Aisles are well stocked, and they have a large selection of lucky items red envelopes, tassled hanging charms, statues and figures, etccute treat-filled containers for kids, fresh seafood, meat and produce. Checkout lines can be long and cashiers slow, but use your wait time to marvel at the old-school round grocery conveyor belt. I also like going into the attached Gift Shop. It's like a mini-Chinatown Grant Ave, full of statues and such that I don't need already got a room full of that stuffbut I still like to look at.
Because you never know what you might find. When I don't want to make the drive to SF and Ranch 99 fails me, I come here for all my Asian grocery stuff needs. These place have the worst customer ever. My go to for the Asian in me! They have it all, not as good as the one in the Bay but it works for me! ALL of the meat has a very sour smell Go an extra mile to Superking to get FRESH meat.
Very large selection of produce, fish, meat and groceries. I like to stop in and find things I've never had before like coconut flavored sunflower seeds! They were really good but they didn't have them the last time I was there. There is a slight language barrier but the people that work there try their best to help you find what you are looking for. SF Supermarket is a Chinese Supermarket chain with multiple stores, which stands for Shun Fat Supermarket.
This one is located inside the Normandy Village Shopping Center here in Stockton and is the only major nice Chinese Supermarket here in Stockton. The other one is either Super King Food Center or Lion Supermarket which are both meh. SF Supermarket is I'd say the most cleanest, biggest Chinese Supermarket here in Stockton. It'll probably be the best Chinese Supermarket Stockton will ever get unless someone convinces 99 Ranch Market to come and open up a store here in Stockton.
The Supermarket itself is pretty big and has all your Asian needs, from Fresh Seafood, Produce, Meat, Noodles, Tofu, Sauces, and of course all those Asian goodies!
One browse around the entire store, and your bound to find something that suits your needs. Service here sucks to be quite honest, like they tend to "ignore customers", for example if your waiting at the meat department, they'll just continue working without even asking you if you need any assistance, let alone give you assistance unless you say something, which is not good customer service at all.
When you see customers waiting, you should immediately stop what you're doing and ask if they need any assistance or not. Today, I saw a lady ask for assistance, and the guy walked away and went to help someone else, like really, she asked you for assistance and you're just gonna walk away and help someone else!?
Service at SF Supermarket in Stockton, really needs some improvement. Also, it is better you speak either Vietnamese or Chinese, because you tend to get farrr better service than if you speak in English.
Lines are usually always long even when they have like check stands open. I don't know why but it just always takes a long time for the check out process. The employees here act like they seriously do not enjoy working at SF Supermarket, no greeting, no eye contact, most of the time odin stock market software free download don't even speak to you The workers need to know how to give better customer service.
SF Supermarket Stockton is the only Chinese Supermarket that I know that uses "Gate Keeper Systems" which helps retailers prevent shopping carts from leaving the store's property with their "locking wheel solution". This system is really good because it helps them save lots of money by keeping their shopping carts, where they want them in the parking lot and not anywhere else!!! If you take the shopping cart beyond the perimeter it will lock instantly and become unusable and unmovable unless an employee unlocks it.
Really good system, I think all stores should use this. This also means that the store has plenty of shopping carts for customers to use because of the system. If they get that it'll help the parking lot situation.
They also have plenty of green hand baskets for customers to use while inside the store. Just leave the basket on the checkout with the stuff your buying and they'll do the rest. The parking lot is run down, horrible, and needs to be repaved!!!!
Parking here is a madhouse sometimes, because of those shopping carts taking up spaces, so you'll sometimes have to scavenge around for a space or even move some of the shopping carts.
Just simply cannot give it any higher than a 3. Service definitely needs improvements. I had a startling revelation today. We are not normal. We drove north over miles and are coming home with a new rice cooker. And 15 bags of seaweed snacks. I am getting some good vibes here. We have been all over So Cal looking for those elusive seaweed snacks. Nearly impossible to find in the Asian stores in our area.

We couldn't anyway, since we live so far away, but we now know we would need to follow the warranty directions. Here is the clincher. The manager made sure it worked before we left the store. He offered to take the rice cooker out of the box, then plugged uk stockbrokers fees in, rev'd it up.
When it got warm, he smiled, re-boxed it and told us we had just bought one of the best brands, Tiger brand. Nice to know, and really above and beyond what his job requires. Walking I'm with my mom we noticed that the store was cleaner than we expected: A lady even helped me pick things out while she overheard me talking to one of the meat department guys. By the way, the meat department guy was very friendly and even was cracking jokes at me due to my poor 99 ranch market stockton haha! So I made that as soon as I got home All in all, this store had so many things you don't typically find and it all seemed fresh and clean. I like the veggie section too where things are packaged in portions that are made for certain dishes etc.

Also, many things are packaged in bulk. I needed a few thai chillies and ended up having to get a package of about since they weren't sold i like to make money get turnt I loan not approved earnest money needed a few so the others went to waste. This would probably only be a 3 star store if it had competition.
I've been here twice in the last month. More frequently than in the past. This store is starting to grow on me. They have a huge selection of Asian foods, produce, meats and fish. I found the frozen paratha that I've been wanting to cook at home and it was simply amazing! Plus, my mom thinks they have the best longanisa in town. I just hate coming here when there is a lot people. Lines are extremely long and it is hard to get around in the store with all the carts and people.
It is best to go during the slow times so you can browse and buy all the unnecessary stuff you can try. This place is awesome! Huge selection of fresh seafood and produce you can't fin anywhere else.
